Work a different angle...
Quick post for today. I am still thinking about writing a post on reliability this weekend, but in the interim, I’m also thinking about the idea of working things at different angles. What do I mean by this? As an example, I have struggled to gain momentum on my new Lizzie Benton series because it’s required me to revisit all my old notes and writing from a few years ago. It’s almost like it’s there, but I can’t quite hold it. To mitigate this, and to ensure I’m still maintaining a level of productivity, I decided to work the series from a different angle: design and create the first few book covers. This also required “digging” into my brain, and researching Photoshop tutorials on YouTube, but I eventually got there with three completed book covers and am quite pleased with how they turned out.
The lesson here? When you’re stuck in one area of a project, find another angle or way to chip away at it. Now, I feel ready to resume writing and I have a better vision for where the series is heading. My thoughts for today. Happy Saturday!
