(Unexpected) planning
Last week, I did some unexpected planning; I worked out more details for the next year on both of my book lines. That sounds like an oxymoron, doesn’t it — unexpected planning? :) I had a family issue last week and could not write as a result. Fortunately, all is well now, and I’m "back in action" as one of my friends would say.
The silver lining in taking a break from my typical routine is that it brought me to appointments and places I do not typically visit, and it also afforded me different and unique interactions with others. This is why it’s so important to go to different places and talk with others you do not typically talk with; your perspective changes and when you least expect it, you’ll suddenly have an unrelated breakthrough or “aha moment” about a different issue you were trying to solve.
While it’s great to travel, sometimes it’s difficult to do so. I know many people feel refreshed and have insights following their trips. Since I had my children, I took a break from traveling. But I do think it’s important to build in different experiences locally. And if you’re limited and cannot do that, perhaps that’s simply making different virtual connections and starting up a conversation with someone not necessarily in your direct area online.
Food for thought! Wishing everyone a great week, and hope all the moms had a very happy Mother’s Day!
